OUR MISSION
AVAHO exists to increase the skills and abilities of veteran-centered cancer care professionals across all disciplines so they can provide the best possible care for our veterans.
We do this by:
- Offering educational programs to members with the goal of improving the quality of cancer care to Veterans
- Facilitating networking between members to broaden knowledge and best practice
Our current membership of over 1,500 professionals is comprised of medical oncologists and hematologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, physician assistants, social workers, cancer registrars/data analytics, dietitians, and other allied health professionals. AVAHO provides opportunities for networking, strengthen the educational activities, and improve the research capabilities among VA Hematology/Oncology professionals.
The Association of VA Hematology/Oncology (AVAHO) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting hematology and oncology professionals who care for our nation's Veterans. We are not directly affiliated with the VA Healthcare system. Donations and membership fees are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
